Yards include your waste allowance and are what you order. Bag counts are rounded up. For anything over about a yard, ready-mix is usually cheaper than bags.

Get the footing volume before the truck rolls

Footings are long and narrow, so the math is easy to fumble in your head. Enter the run in feet and the width and depth in inches, and the calculator returns cubic yards for the ready-mix plant along with cubic feet and bag counts for the short runs you handle yourself.

Turn on rebar and set how many continuous bars run the length. The calculator multiplies that by your footing run and tells you the linear feet and how many twenty foot sticks to buy. The form boards line covers both sides of the trench.

The waste allowance matters more on a footing than most people expect, because a hand dug trench is never a clean rectangle and the extra width adds up fast over a long run. Ten percent is a fair floor, and rough digging earns more.

FAQ

Concrete Footing Calculator questions

How do I calculate concrete for a footing?

Multiply the run by the width by the depth, convert to cubic yards, and add waste. The calculator handles the unit conversions and shows the yards to order.

How many rebar bars go in a footing?

Two or three continuous bars is common for residential work, but follow your plan or local code. Set the bar count in the calculator to get the linear feet.

How deep should a footing be?

Deep enough to sit below the frost line for your area and to match the design load. Your local code sets the minimum, so confirm before you dig.

Is this really free?

Yes. No email, no signup, and nothing you type leaves your browser.
