Estimates overview
Two estimate styles, online approval, and one click to a project.
Updated October 15, 2026
An estimate is your price for a job before you win it. Werx has two styles. An itemized estimate lists every line with quantity and price. A proposal estimate describes the scope and shows one price. Both go to the customer for approval online.
- In the left navigation, click Projects > Estimates.
- Click Add Estimate and choose the style: an Itemized estimate prices each line item, a Proposal estimate presents a scope with a single price.
- Send the estimate to your customer for online approval. An approved estimate can be turned into a project with Create Project.
From estimate to project
The Estimates list shows every estimate with its status: pending, approved or declined. The cards at the top total them. When a customer approves, click Create Project on the row to start a contract or T&M project from the estimate. The line items carry over.
Estimates FAQ
Which style should I use?
Itemized when the customer wants to see unit prices. Proposal when you want to sell the scope and keep your pricing private.
Can the customer approve from their phone?
Yes. The approval link works on any device and records their name and signature.
Can I edit an estimate after I send it?
Yes, until it is approved. Resend it so the customer sees the new version.
