Get paid online with Stripe

Let customers pay invoices by card from the portal.

Werx uses Stripe to take card payments. You connect your Stripe account once. After that every invoice you send carries a Pay Now button, and payments are recorded on the invoice for you.

  1. Click your avatar in the top right, choose Account Settings, then click Payments.
  1. Click Connect and complete Stripe's onboarding (business details, bank account). Once charges are enabled, every invoice you send carries a Pay Now button in the customer portal.
  2. Card payments land in your Stripe balance and are recorded against the invoice automatically, fee included as a vendor bill when you set a fee vendor.

Stripe asks for your business details and a bank account for payouts. This happens on Stripe's site, not in Werx.

Where fees go

Pick a fee vendor on the Payments page and Werx records Stripe's processing fee as a bill to that vendor, so your job costs stay complete. Leave it blank and the fee is simply deducted from the payout.

What does it cost?

Stripe's card processing fee. Werx adds no fee of its own. Check your Stripe dashboard for your rate.

When does the money arrive?

Stripe pays out to your bank on its normal schedule, usually two business days.

Can I turn it off?

Yes. Click Disable Payments on the Payments page. Invoices you already sent lose their Pay Now button.
