Proposal estimates
Sell the scope with one price.
Updated October 15, 2026
A proposal estimate reads like a letter. You describe the work, list what is included and excluded, and give one price. Your line items and costs stay private, so the customer sees the value, not your margin.
- In the left navigation, click Projects > Estimates, then Add Estimate and choose Proposal.
- Pick the customer, name the proposal, write the scope of work and enter the price. Line items stay off the customer-facing document.
- Add your terms, then click Save & Send so the customer can approve it online.
Proposal estimates FAQ
Can I still track my costs on a proposal?
Yes. Add your internal line items for costing. They are used for the budget and never printed on the proposal.
Can I switch a proposal to itemized?
No. Create a new estimate in the other style and copy the lines.
